Som Mittal is president of NASSCOM, responsible for representing the Indian IT-BPO software and services industry. His responsibilities include enhancing India’s leadership position in the global offshore IT-BPO market. He has three decades of extensive experience in India, where he spent two decades in the Indian IT industry. Before joining NASSCOM, he led the services business for Hewlett Packard in Asia Pacific. He is a member of National E-Governance Plan (NeGP) and National Integration Council both chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He is on the governing board of several educational institutions and policy-making groups.
