Grace ABELLA-ZATA
Managing Director, Corporate Executive Search

Grace Abella-Zata brings to the table her insights as managing director of Corporate Executive Search and a long-time advocacy of academe-industry partnerships. She has championed academe-industry partnerships, as a six-term board member and past president of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP). Over a 10-year period, she led the research on the challenges of hiring for entry-level positions, results of which have been shared by PMAP in colleges and universities. She was also a PMAP representative in the Human Resources Management Cluster of the National Competitiveness Council and a faculty member of PMAP’s Diploma Program in Human Resources Planning and Acquisition for over a decade. She is an AB Psychology graduate of the University of the Philippines and has an MBA degree from the Asian Institute of Management.

Shridhar AIYER

Shridhar Aiyer is Sutherland Global Services’ vice president for Human Resources for the Philippines and China. Over the last six years, he has been instrumental in supporting the growth of Sutherland Philippines, specifically in conceptualizing the talent creation approach and building talent across the country. This approach paved the way for Sutherland’s provincial model and its being hailed as one of the fastest-growing BPO companies. Dado BANATAO

Dado Banatao is the managing partner of Tallwood Venture Capital. With his vast experience as an entrepreneur, he provides Tallwood with a unique perspective in technology investments. Tallwood invests in unique and complex semiconductor technology solutions for computing, communication, and consumer platforms. Prior to forming Tallwood, Mr. Banatao was a venture partner at the Mayfield Fund. He co-founded three technology start-up companies: S3 Graphics (now a subsidiary of HTC), Chips & Technologies (later acquired by Intel), and Mostron. He also held engineering and general management positions at National Semiconductor, Seeq Technologies, Intersil, and Commodore International. He pioneered the PC chip set and graphics acceleration architecture that remains to be the foundation of every PC today. As a Silicon Valley visionary, he is credited with developing several key semiconductor technologies.

Craig BAXTER

As managing director of HDI, Craig Baxter oversees the world’s largest technical service and support membership organization and the industry’s premier certification and training body. He manages a talented group of product managers who create an unrivaled environment of growth and learning for the IT service e and support industry. Previously, he was a software engineer where he developed a variety of applications including command and control systems, customer service applications, and secure check disbursement systems. Vikas BHALLA

Vikas Bhalla leads all outsourcing operations across EXL’s global delivery centers. Mr. Bhalla has been with EXL since 2001. During this time, he has spearheaded multiple client operations across the insurance, utilities and financial services verticals. Jean Paul BINOT

Jean-Paul Binot is director for Finance Transformation at Deloitte Consulting Southeast Asia. He has over two decades of experience, focusing on providing services to clients in the manufacturing, business services, consumer business, life sciences and financial services sectors; and in areas such as accounting and reporting, shared services and outsourcing, corporate transformation, legal and tax restructuring, business continuity plans, and risk management. During the course of his career, Mr. Binot primarily focused on clients in the automotive, life sciences, and financial services sectors. He also served as an advisor on make-or-buy analysis and supplier selection for BPO solutions in finance and human resources.

Prabhakar BISEN
Global Insurance BPO Head and Country Head for the Philippines, Cognizant Technology Solutions



Prabhakar Bisen, head of Global Delivery for Insurance BPO of Cognizant, has two decades of professional experience in transitions, project management, IT, and business consulting, and operations management. Prior to joining Cognizant, he was the chief executive officer of WNS Philippines, a subsidiary of WNS Group. He also co-authored the Transition Methodology of WNS. At Genpact, he led the transition for a renowned US bank. He also worked with Satyam Computer Services where he managed several IT and strategy consulting assignments. Mr. Bisen started his career with Tata Motors in India.

Penny BONGATO
Executive Director for Talent Development, Business Processing Association of the Philippines



As the executive director for Talent Development at the Business Processing Association of the Philippines, Penny Bongato manages all talent-related initiatives for the industry for the Roadmap 2016, including implementing the current portfolio of initiatives, working with stakeholders to refresh the portfolio, anchoring the talent working group, and launching and monitoring the Talent Partnerships program. Ms. Bongato has more than 25 years of work experience, 15 years of which have been focused on human resource management. She served as vice president for HR of the Philippine American Life and General Insurance Company, and regional HR director for Asia Pacific of Headstrong.

Mark BRETTON
Vice President and Head of BPO for UK and Europe, Tata Consultancy Services



Mark Bretton is vice president and head of Business Process Outsourcing for UK and Europe for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). He is a member of the global executive team that develops the BPO business of TCS as well as the European leadership team. He also chairs the BPO Global Sales Council. Prior to TCS, he was a member of the European Steering Committee for the Shared Services and Outsourcing Network and voted as one of the most influential leaders in the European shared services market. Previously, he was the managing director of customer management at Royal Mail Group. In 2003, his work was recognized when he became a finalist in the National Customer Service Awards, Leader of the Year category.

Michael BURBACH
Senior Director-Transaction Services and Offshore Operations, SPi Healthcare



Michael Burbach is the senior director for Transaction Services and Offshore Operations of SPi Healthcare. He is responsible for managing key transactional processes in revenue cycle management operations, providing billing process management for large physician groups. He supervises over 150 staff members in a variety of functions such as payment posting, coding, charge entry, customer service and document management services. Mr. Burbach created a multifunctional offshore team in the Philippines, covering every aspect of the revenue cycle management process. Prior to SPi, he was senior operations manager for Oncology Information Services at Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

David CALDWELL
Operations Area Manager, Wells Fargo Bank

David Caldwell is operations area manager for Wells Fargo Bank. He led the establishment of Wells Fargo Philippines Solutions, a service center employing Wells Fargo team members to provide a variety of functions including customer service and back-office support. Mr. Caldwell has over two decades of financial services leadership with various multinational firms and over a decade of experience leading business process offshoring projects for the Philippines. Prior to Wells Fargo, he was the general manager of Emerson Manila Shared Services. Mr. Caldwell has a degree in Finance from James Madison University in Virginia and an MBA in International Business from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania.

Suzanne CALLISTER-HOLMBOE
Regional Director for Corporate Services, TMF Group

Suzanne Callister-Holmboe has been in the business and corporate services field for almost 20 years. After almost a decade with Deloitte in the UK, Caribbean and Hong Kong, she made Hong Kong her permanent home and has been appointed to senior positions within trust and corporate services providers in the region. Ms. Holmboe is the regional director of Corporate Services of Asia Pacific with TMF Group, which provides independent fiduciary and administration services. She is professionally qualified as a Chartered Secretary (Fellowship member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretary) and a Trust and Estate Practitioner. She is also a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and a chairperson of the Executive committee of STEP Hong Kong.

Raquel CAPINPIN
President, Misys Philippines, Inc.

Raquel Capinpin has over 20 years of management experience spanning across several industries from service and utilities, pharmaceutical and IT. She is Philippine site lead at Misys Philippines, Inc., where she has worked since 2004. Ms. Capinpin worked for a customer services outsourcing firm, Customer Contact Center, Inc. as the operations director where she handled several accounts from the service/utility industry (telecommunications, cable, power and broadcasting company). Her responsibilities included strategic planning, project management and implementation, budget management and day-to-day operations management. Ms. Capinpin has a professional license in Electronics and Communications Engineering and completed the Executive Development Program at the Asian Institute of Management.

Augusto CASTELLANOS
Director, Proexport Colombia in India

Since joining Proexport Colombia in April 2008, Augusto Castellanos served as market intelligence analyst, foreign investment advisor and intelligence unit director. Under his leadership, the unit developed a new methodology to segment potential investors. His professional career includes experience in the Senate of Colombia as the economist advisor of former Senator Gina Parody and in international trade consultancy as economic adviser. Adrian Cristobal Jr. is undersecretary for Industry Development and Trade Policy and leads the formulation of the country’s trade and investment policies and strategies. He is also the managing head of the Board of Investments. A lawyer, columnist, and law professor, Usec. Cristobal has also served as undersecretary for Consumer Welfare and Trade Regulation, supervising undersecretary for Legal Affairs, chief of staff of the secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (2001–2004), and director general of the Intellectual Property Office (2005–2009). Usec. Cristobal obtained his Political Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley, USA and his Juris Doctor of Laws at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines.

Joey Gurango has a solid track record in forming and running successful software companies. Benedict HERNANDEZ

Benedict Hernandez is the president and CEO of BPAP. In this role, he will lead the association in pursuing its Roadmap 2016 vision of doubling the revenues of the IT-BPO industry to US$25-billion and creating 1.3 million additional jobs for Filipinos. He will also oversee its key initiatives in expanding the Philippine talent pool, maintaining a positive business environment, and fortifying the Philippines as a preferred offshore delivery location. His new role is part of his personal advocacy to reinforce the Philippines on the global outsourcing map. Concurrently, he is also the operations lead for Accenture BPO Services Delivery in the Philippines and president of the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP).

Juan Victor I HERNANDEZ

Juan Victor Hernandez is the vice president and head of PLDT’s Corporate Business Group and the concurrent enterprise sales and marketing head for Smart. Previously, he was the Visayas and Mindanao Corporate Relationship business head. Prior to his employment in PLDT, he worked with the Hongkong Shanghai Bank. He has been in the telecommunications business for the past 11 years. He is a graduate of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños, where he obtained a degree in Agricultural Economics. In 2000, he received his Masters degree in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management.

Monchito B IBRAHIM
Deputy Executive Director, DOST-ICTO

Monchito Ibrahim is the deputy executive director for policies of Department of Science and Technology – Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO). Previously, he served as the commissioner of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) from 2007 until June 30, 2011. In 1975, he started his career in the IT industry as a systems trainee at NCR Philippines. In the course of his extensive involvement in the industry, he has worked for multinational companies like Fujitsu, WeServ, Siemens-Nixdorf, Comparex Germany, and Unisys Australia in various executive positions. He joined the Philippine Computer Society in 1990 and served as president in 2004–2005, and president of the PCS Foundation in 2005–2006. He also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Southeast Asia Regional Computer Confederation in 2004–2005.

Jun ISHIKAWA
Director, GaiaX Asia Corporation



Jun Ishikawa is the director for GaiaX Asia Corporation, a strategic subsidiary company of GaiaX Co. Ltd. He migrated from Japan to establish the subsidiary company and widen the reach of GaiaX Co.Ltd., which is a leading social media company in Japan. Their main focus is on outsourcing business processes that involve the social media such as social media page security, Facebook page management, smartphone app support. Prior to GaiaX, Mr. Ishikawa has established new businesses, including marketing in IT, HR, retail, and the non-government sectors. He co-authored A Perfect Guide to Understanding Facebook by Professionals published in Japan.

Keith JONES
Global Head of User Support, Cognizant Philippines



Keith Jones has over a decade of contact center leadership experience. He has worked in industries such as retail, sales, customer service, collections, and technical support. Though his major focus is operations, Mr. Jones has developed exceptional expertise in strategic asset management and leadership development. His recent work in these areas has resulted in US$2 million in financial improvements for clients during the past two years. Additionally, he has orchestrated leadership trainings which improved the company’s leadership performance by 13% and resulted in US$4million of cost avoidance. Mr. Jones is a Six Sigma Black Belt and a former quality auditor for the state of Florida. He received his MBA from the University of South Florida.

Carlo JOSE
President and Head of GSC Operations – Philippines, HSBC



Carlo Jose has 12 years of professional experience in the financial services, captive, and outsourced BPO sectors. Starting his career in BPO as a customer service associate, he quickly moved into management and leadership roles. He joined HSBC as assistant vice president for Operations in 2004, the first year of HSBC’s shared services operations in Manila. After a year, he was promoted to vice president. In August 2007, he took an international assignment to Chesapeake, Virginia as site director for Credit Card Customer Care and Collections. A year later, he repatriated to the Philippines taking on a new role as senior vice president for Operations, and handled the Call Centre Service and Sales processes. In August 2010, he became the first Filipino Centre Manager for the Philippines and in early 2012, has taken the broader role of head of GSC Operations - Philippines with 5,700 employees across two facilities in Manila.

Rohit KAPOOR
Vice Chairman and CEO, ExlService Holdings



Rohit Kapoor is vice chairman and CEO of ExlService Holdings. As a former business head at Deutsche Bank, he led a marketing team that serviced clients in Europe, the Middle East, and India. He also managed the venture capital and private equity investments of several ultra-high net worth clients in start-up companies. Having successfully raised several rounds of venture capital funding for various companies, Mr. Kapoor has also been involved in the structuring of their investments. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he worked for eight years with Bank of America, five of which were in private banking in New York and three in corporate banking in India. Rohit holds a bachelor’s degree from IIT Delhi and an MBA degree from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. Mr. Kapoor is an active member of NASSCOM BPO Forum.

H. Karthik leads Everest Group’s Global Sourcing and Location Optimization research practices and is a recognized thought leader on global sourcing. He leads a team of analysts dedicated towards serving clients (mostly Fortune 500 companies) on multiple global sourcing issues, such as location strategy, sourcing model strategy, global in-house centers, benchmarking, and optimization through a combination of custom projects and published research. Mr. Karthik also has significant experience serving country development organizations and industry associations across the world.
